The Preschool Room is a mixed use space. We have two big rugs for morning meeting, tables for snack and lunch time, a writing center and our art area. We have a large space for blocks and manipulatives, a cozy dramatic play area, a real piano and a kitchenette. The space is flexible and changes based on our needs. In the center of the preschool room is our Family Tree.
In the Pillow Room children can work their large muscle groups in a safe, supervised setting, as well as work through any big feelings they may have by jumping, rolling, and crushing several varieties of pillows. Sometimes the pillow room is a place for pretending to be babies or kittens. Often it is place where children build forts or hideouts.
The Tinkering Studio is equipped with a woodworking bench and table vise, open-ended materials for construction, real tools for building and taking things apart, and simple machines.
